New and improved

The  guéridon we ordered finally arrived and we bought a giant lamp to put on it.
It makes the "creative" arrangement we have at the other end of the sofa seem even more
pathetique that it did before.

Les pivoines

La bergerie came with some very ancient pivoines in bad need of being divided.

The result: ten original pivoines multiplied to FIFTY pivoines now, all planted in four new beds along the path! Looking forward to spring.

A pheasant, apparently.

Indoor project number 2 - the office

This room may not seem that bad, but believe us, it was. Just ask Sarah M., who was the only one brave enough to sleep in it.  The walls are covered in stapled vinyl that had become disgustingly sticky over the years. The light blue velvery carpeting was badly stained. It was a mess.

Behind the vinyl, we found, of course, wall paper.

And beyond the wall paper, some damp and crumbling plaster.

   

Et voila!  We are ready for you, Sarah.
We even managed to furnished this entire room only with stuff we found already around the house. The big table, was hidden deep in the cellar.
